I was wondering if this feature has been imporved in more recent firmware versions:
With my original firmware, using zone control, the setting of a temperature setpoint with some rate will be effective only until the system reaches a new zone. At this point, the temperature change rate will be set to the zone setting, and not to the requested rate when the setpoint was set. Of course, one would like the system to go through zones keeping the requested rate, provided it is smaller than the one set in the zones.
Thanks for your help

Greetings,
There has been no change in how the Model 336 Zone Control feature operates, therefore, once you change zones the parameters of the new zone become active. This includes the ramp rate specified in the zone.
To my knowledge, we have never had this request submitted previously, therefore, I will submit your request to our product manager and he will determine if it is something we wish to implement.

Thanks.
As an example, you may have a look on how very popular cryogenic instruments like Quantum Design ones work: users do want to reach temperatures using a user defined rate, and not bother with PIDs across the temperature ramp. This can be acomplished only using zones.
