Hi folks,
I am trying to update the instrument firmware on a model 336 using the USB firmware updater running on Windows 10. The 336 is found by Windows, but the updater stops at about 1/3rd of the way along its progress bar during the first step of the process. I have tried this several times, after rebooting the computer, powercycling the 336, but it always appears to hang at about 1/3rd.
Any ideas?
Thank you, Michael

Problem solved! It appears to have been dirty contacts on the USB-B connector at the back of the Lakeshore 336. Re-seating the cable multiple times cleaned the contacts sufficiently to allow the firmware update to complete.
