Hi Guys,
Recently, I encountered some problems with using 410 gaussmeter to measure a varies magnetic field. For two probes of 410 gaussmeter, whether it is a transverse or axial probe, their Hall sensors have a certain area, about 1.82*1.99mm^2. So, what distance's magnetic field was detected by probe? The center of the hall sensor? Or the edge of it? I want to know how to make sure I measured by 410 is the right gauss of a certain distance.
Looking forward to your reply and it's really urgent to me, thanks!

Hi Jeff, Very helpful information for me. I want to confirm is there a gaussmeter with smaller hall sensor active area that we can use it to measure a non-uniform magnetic field more accurately?
Thanks.

I see, but I found 410 probe hall active area is 0.13*0.13mm from pdf which you sent to me. So, their hall sensor performance could be thought about the same? And I'm confused about 2DEX FP probe's 0.1mm X 0.1mm active area, from the catalog, the 2DEX FP probe's active area is 0.1mm^2, which information is correct?
