Hi,
I have a Stirling cooler that I am trying to control using a model 325 temperature controller. The Stirling's control board uses an input signal between 0 and 5 V and is therefore connected to loop 2 with the 25 Ohm load. My temperature sensor is a PT1000. I have been able to manually operate the output using the open loop but am now stuck when trying to do closed loop control. Is it possible to use the heater output for cooling?
Thanks

The Model 325 can only provide a positive voltage and most cooling systems require that a negative voltage be provided when the setpoint is lower than the measured temperature, to cool the system. If that is how your Stirling system works, the Model 325 is not compatible.

My cooling system requires a positive voltage for cooling. I would like to obtain that positive voltage (between 0 and 5 V) when the setpoint is set lower.

The Model 325 only offers positive heating. When the setpoint is below the measured temperature, the voltage will eventually go to zero based on the PID settings, however, it will never produce a positive voltage in that situation.
