Hello. I understand that the Analog Out of say the 218 monitor can be used to connect a DAS. Can I also use the SCPI command KRDG? to acquire the same data in time? I assume I would also need to query at some rate? Is that how your strip chart recorder is used? I'd like to create something similar in LabView since have other instrumentation I am tying all together for control purposes.

You are correct that the chart recorder application we offer sends a KRDG? 0 query and reads the response which includes the temperature of all 8 channels.
As the Model 218 completes a scan cycle, the results are written into a register and that is where the information for the KRDG? command is read. Depending on how many inputs are active determines the rate that the registers are updated. Refer to section 4.5.1 of the user manual to see what the rate is based on channel assignments.
Just to clarify, sending the KRDG? command does not cause the 218 to perform a scan, it only reads the result of the last scan that was done.
