Hello everybody,
I am a student and have never set up or operated a temperature controller and have now struggled with this problem for the whole week: We have a 336 Temperature controller and want to hook it up to a computer. However, neither the USB (two different cables) nor Ethernet connection work, we tried both with two different computers. We downloaded the update firmware software and the Lakeshore is not recognized. As we tried different USB cables and computers, we are pretty sure that the issue is neither due to either of these. We have read the manuals and documents and were not able to locate anything obvious that we are doing wrong. Ultimatively, we would like to operate the device via Python, but we need a connection for that first. We use Windows 10. Has anybody encountered a similar problem and if yes, how did you fix it? I am happy to provide more information if necessary.
Cheers, APhysicist

From your description, it sounds like you have 4K as the setpoint limit for the curve you created. If you try to enter a setpoint that is higher than the setpoint limit entry in your curve file, the instrument will revert to that value.
You can verify this by selecting the curve entry button on the front panel and then selecting the user curve you wish to edit. Press enter until you see the Setpoint Limit Entry and change it to the value equal to or lower than the highest temperature you have on the curve. This will allow you to enter a setpoint up to the value you entered. Note, this is curve dependent so if you have more than one curve you built, you will need to modify all of them.

Hello Jeff, Thank you for reply, however I do not think this helps. My problem is that I am unable to connect via a USB to the temperature controller and do not know why.
