Hi everyone,
I have an issue with Lake Shore Chart Recorder software on model 335. As soon as the connection is tested or selected, main window opens for a second and then closes/crashes. No error message is displayed. It was tested under user and admin privileges. The sw version is 1.1.6 - standalone mode. The Java 8 Update 241 is installed. The problem started right after the last Windows 10 updates. The work-around is to get back to previous Windows version. I can't really say which Windows update can be a root cause because there was a lot of them installing at one time. Have you also experienced something like that? Thank you for the response.

Most likely, the JAVA version was updated with the windows update. There is an issue running Chart Recorder on later versions of JAVA so you have to use version 1.8.0 - build 321 or lower in order to run Chart Recorder.
To verify the version of JAVA, type About JAVA in the search window. If you have a version higher 1.8.0, You will need to downgrade the version which you can obtain from Oracle.

Hi,
I have the same issue with a Windows 10 computer on the Temperature Controller model 335, USB connection. I´ve tested the Chart Recorder with Java 8 Update 371 and Java 8 Update 321 and it crashes with both!
Any idea for fixing it? Thank you in advance.

We have found that the main issue is that The Chart Recorder application is a 32-bit JAVA application so it requires that a 32-bit JAVA version be installed. Based on the failure mode, I believe you only have a 64-bit JAVA version installed.
To confirm, open the JAVA Configurator and click on Java and then view. You need to see both the X86_64 and X86 versions.
If you do not have the X86 version installed it can be obtained from the Oracle web site.

Reverting to a previous Windows version as a workaround is understandable for now. You might want to check with Smd screen Lake Shore for any updates or patches to address this issue.
