I have a model 211 Lake Shore monitor that is measuring the temperature of a cryo pump (cryo-torr 8F). I haven't turned the pump on, but have left the monitor on as we install other components of the vacuum chamber.
Over a few weeks, the temperature reading started to drop from room temperature to ~ -400 °F (I don't recall the exact number). I restarted the system to try and fix the monitor. Now all the lights are on, including the buttons and every bar on the temperature display panel.
Does this behavior indicate a problem with the monitor or diode? Any suggestions of how to fix?
The pump was not turned on at any point in time during this process, so the ~ -400°F temperature reading was clearly anomalous.
Thanks for the help!
