Hello, I am Suhyun Park from the Department of Chemistry, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology.
We were using two Cernox sensors and were reading the temperature using SRS's CTC100.
One was on the Cryostat(CX1050-CU-HT-1.4L) and the other was on the EPR Probe(CX-1010-AA-1.4L).
Suddenly, one of the sensors connected to the cryostat(CX1050-CU-HT-1.4L) doesn't seem to be working... I haven't done anything to it! The sensor on the EPR Probe(CX-1010-AA-1.4L) is fine.
Is there any chance that a sensor could suddenly fail like this?
Thank you.

It is very unusual for a sensor to just stop working without some external event that affected the sensor or its wiring.
Here are some possible reasons the sensor has stopped working: 1. The Input on the SRS CTC100 is defective 2. The sensor was exposed to an external voltage like ESD. Was any welding performed when the sensor stopped working 3. the sensor was overheated and the solder that holds the leads to the contact pads melted causing the leads to come loose from the sensor
