AC155 is getting in trouble after long time scale ON state conditions.
A red screen is appearing with a message "internal communication error" - internal com was interrupted, but has now been restored". This red screen does not turn off the output, but it can happen sometimes.
So when using the instrument ON state for several days, with automated setups for recording data, you can have suddenly and randomly, a current/voltage source discontinuity due to a OFF state of AC155 ... unfortunately.
Yet any firmware updates (at least before 2024-11 for those who read this message now) are not efficient enough to solve this issue.
The only way to get back to normal condition, is simply to turn OFF the instrument, unplug the power plug, wait some hours, then replug, restart, and that is it.
This problem does not appear if you use the instrument for let's say for 1 day.
It only happens if you let the instrument ON for several days, like more than 3 days or more, without switching OFF the main power.
