Hi.
Can the Cernox sensor (SD package) be immersed in LN2 when attached directly to a bulk superconductor? Is it right to assume that the superconductor / sensor come into thermal equilibrium so I am measuring the superconductor temperature correctly?
Thanks!

The "SD" package is our most rugged package and is hermetically sealed allowing immersion into liquid cryogen like LN2. When properly mounted , the sensor will accurately report the temperature of the bulk superconductor . Sensor mounting suggestions can be found in the Cernox™ Installation Instructions at:

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Great, thank you.
Is it typical to varnish down the leads to the superconductor surface close to the connection point for strain relief? I'm having trouble deciding on how to deal with this small wire gauge.
